　　The series begins when suspected human remains are uncovered on Whitney Marsh - Jess and Sunny are immediately called to the scene, abandoning their evening plans to Jess’s husband’s chagrin. 　　NBC过去拿下电影《绝地战警2BadBoysII》角色Sydney“Syd”Burnett的个人衍生剧试映集《洛城战警L.A.’sFinest》，但该项目最终没被预订。但是经过制片公司Sonyjijidy.comPictures电视部门的销售后，《洛城战警》以13集首季被有线台Spectrum收归旗下，预定美国时间5月13日首播。
　　在《绝地战警2》中饰演Syd一角的演员是GabrielleUnion，剧集版将由她继续演出。她是MarcusBurnett（MartinLawrence饰）的妹妹，亦是美国缉毒局的卧底探员。另外在片中，Sydney与MikeLowrey（WillSmith饰）是情侣。
　　《洛城战警》里Syd成了洛杉矶警局的警探，原本可以扔下过去，享受生活的她却可能因为新拍档NancyMcKenna而令事情变得复杂。在2000-02年主演过《末世黑天使DarkAngel》的JessicaAlba将饰演NancyMcKenna，Nancy高中后参加了陆军，在伊拉克及阿富汗待了10年之久；回国后她当上了警探，与丈夫一同抚养两个前青少年期的继子。
